Matthew Christopher Blake was born on October 22nd, 1985 at the University Hospital of the West Indies. He was raised in Portmore, St. Catherine, where he has permanently resided for the past 20 years. He was brought up in a Christian home, and was surrounded by family and friends who were interested and involved in the practice of music.
The ministry of Garfield Reid began in the year 2003 when a confirmation came from God that he should be a Musical Minister of the Gospel. Currently the ministry of Garfield Reid has four (4) musicians, two keyboard players, a base guitarist and a drummer, three of which were formally known as the Anointed Brothers Gospel band, and one new member added to the band during last year.
